Financial software is really where we began as a business, developing software to help IFA’s manage their clients’ investments and pensions. From there we moved to apps for clients of IFA’s to manage their own investments. Since those initial applications, we have gone on to develop applications for the insurance industry to help their clients manage their policies and their claims. Fundamentally all financial software is there to promote transparency to the clients, directors and shareholders (or sometimes all three). This transparency then ensures that any relevant governing bodies, if they need to, can then immediately view the information they need to ensure the business is operating as it should. Also, transparency helps clients make better financial decisions helps staff sell financial products more confidently.

When developing any kind of software that is used in a financial setting the most immediate concern is to provide confidence in the platform, ensure it works error free and to ensure that it works in a way an end user expects. Any ‘bumps in the road’ when the software is in use will erode confidence and when dealing with people’s finances this can have a direct impact on customer retention and the ability of staff to trust the application is doing what it should.
