Sapere has created new jobs after a period of growth

A Stockton software and business solutions company has been awarded a contract to work with Teesside University, building on a successful partnership in 2018 that started last year.

Sapere Software has enjoyed a period of growth which resulted in recruiting two additional software engineers to service the growing client base.

The company had previously worked with the university to help provide technical audits and reports on digitalisation to businesses in a variety of industries, from pharmaceutical companies to charitable organisations.

The six-month tenders will follow a similar structure to the 2018 projects, building on web and mobile-based innovation. This year there will also be a focus on system integration and development consultancy.

The work is being carried out through DigitalCity, a Teesside University initiative in partnership with the Tees Valley Combined Authority which works with digital and non-digital businesses to stimulate digital innovation and investment,

Paul Drake, operations director at Sapere said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Teesside University again.

“Our business began through the university’s startup scheme and that put us in a strong position to achieve the growth that we have. Our two new recruits were students at Teesside, too. We’re passionate about developing and retaining North East talent.

“These kinds of projects really matter; they educate and provide a platform for scale and growth in businesses that they can act on when they’re ready. We have helped lots of businesses understand how to digitise services and we’d like to continue this on a wider scale going further.”

DigitalCity investment manager David Dixon said: ”It’s great for DigitalCity to be working with Sapere Software. Not only is it fantastic to see one of our supported enterprises flourishing and successfully tendering for projects, but we’re delighted that Sapere’s success is, in turn, creating opportunities for other Teesside University companies.”

Sapere creates business solutions by providing consultancy and developing bespoke web and mobile software for businesses across the UK and beyond.
