Managing large scale events such as charity runs attended by thousands would be almost impossible without software and equally as difficult with a piece of software not fit for purpose. Two obstacles faced by TF when they hosting a charity 2k run.

Sapere were approached with an event looming and asked to provide consultancy, design and development services to create a bespoke CRM web application to manage the Teach First run and conference. With 1000's of delegates and runners there was a requirement for a robust, accurate and intelligent CRM...

The completed web application would need to allow conference delegates to sign up for specific talks and presentations and to manage their itinerary over the course of the event. It also needed to be able to allow up to the minute information to be disseminated to delegates in real-time as the event took place.

Planning and managing an event of this size would be a huge undertaking without a database driven software system to manage the process. Delegate information would be lost. Taking payments for the race would be cumbersome and time-consuming and take up valuable staff time and resources.

The Web Solution

Sapere developed a database driven bespoke application to manage the event bookings. The system was written using ASP.NET and MySQL as the database platform.

The delegates could register for an event, pay the registration fee and also manage their account leaving Teach First to concentrate on marketing the event and ensuring its success.

The completed app also ensured that events could not be over subscribed or double booked and that events which had been less popular could be promoted to users more successfully to encourage take up.
